Minister of Women's Affairs meets with members of the General Secretariat of the General Union of Palestinian Womenوزيرة شؤون المرأة تلتقي عضوات الامانه العامة للاتحاد العام للمرأة الفلسطينية

Ms. Muna Al-Khalili, the Minister of Women’s Affairs met in her office in Ramallah with the Ms. Intisar Al-Wazir, the head of the General Union of Palestinian Women and members of the General Secretariat, to strengthen partnerships and unify efforts on all issues that advance the realities of Palestinian women.

Al-Khalili also discussed a number of issues that require policy action including legal and human rights issues. As well, the Ministry's role in strengthening and developing partnerships with Palestinian and international women's institutions and expanding the framework with international networks and organizations, in addition to strengthening the role of the General Women's Union in various international commissions.

In turn, Al-Wazir stressed on the need to bring various issues to the Cabinet table through the Ministry of Women's Affairs and to resume work on all cases that had been postponed as a result of the current political situation and the war on Gaza. 

Then, Mr. Dawood Al Dee, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Women's Affairs welcomed women leaders of the General Union of Palestinian Women. He said that this union was the main input for the representation of Palestinian women. He added: “The meeting between the Ministry and the union was to serve the Palestinian agenda within the Palestinian context and create a Palestinian society that safeguarded the rights of Palestinian women”.

In context, the members discussed a number of themes including, unifying partnerships for the favor of Palestinian women, emphasizing the Ministry's policy role and expanding partnerships with grass-roots federations, committees, trade unions, in order to come up with an inclusive work for Palestinian women.

التقت وزيرة شؤون المرأة منى الخليلي، في مقر الوزارة، رئيس الاتحاد العام للمرأة الفلسطينية انتصار الوزير وعضوات الامانه العامة، وذلك لتوطيد الشراكات وتوحيد الجهود في كافة القضايا التي من شأنها النهوض بواقع المرأة الفلسطينية.
ومن جهتها ناقشت الخليلي خلال اللقاء جملة من القضايا التي تتطلب عمل سياساتي لأحداث الاثر على ارض الواقع ومنها القضايا الحقوقية والقانونية، كما تم مناقشة دور الوزارة في تعزيز وتطوير الشراكات مع المؤسسات النسوية الفلسطينية والدولية وتوسيع إطار العمل مع الشبكات والمنظمات الدولية بالإضافة لتعزيز دور الاتحاد العام للمرأة في اللجان الدولية المختلفة.
ومن جهتها تحدثت الوزير على ضرورة طرح مختلف القضايا على طاولة مجلس الوزراء من خلال وزارة شؤون المرأة واستئناف العمل على كافة القضايا التي تم تأجيل النظر فيها نتيجة الاوضاع السياسية الراهنه والحرب على غزة.
ومن جانبه رحب وكيل وزارة شؤون المرأة داود الديك بالقيادات النسوية من الاتحاد العام وقال إن الاتحاد العام للمرأة الفلسطينية هو المدخل الاساسي لتمثيل المرأة الفلسطينية، وأن الالتقاء ما بين الوزارة والاتحاد تكمن في خدمة الاجندة الفلسطينية ضمن السياق الفلسطيني وخلق مجتمع فلسطيني يصون حقوق النساء الفلسطينيات، مشيرا الى أن الوزارة ستواصل عملها الاساسي الرسمي على المستوى السياسات.
وفي نفس السياق تناقشت العضوات حول عدة محاور من بينها توحيد الشراكات لصالح المرأة الفلسطينية والتأكيد على أخذ الوزارة لدورها السياساتي، وتوسيع الشراكات مع الاتحادات الشعبية واللجان والنقابات وشمولية العمل لما يخدم المرأة الفلسطينية.
