Al-Khalili in a meeting with gender units: Palestinian women's issues deserve us to redouble efforts and strengthen coordination and cooperation

The Minister of Women's Affairs, Ms. Mona Al-Khalili, confirmed in her meeting with gender units from different ministries, that the Ministry, in coordination and cooperation with all ministries and official institutions, is endeavoring to activate the role of gender units in order to serve women's issues and ensure that all policies take into account the rights and interests of women, especially in these complex political circumstances.
Then, she stressed the importance of collective action and coordination among the various ministries in addressing women's issues, especially in the light of political vision and a government program supportive of women and supportive of equality and combating discrimination against women. In particular, women in the Gaza Strip, women victims of occupation violence and settlers and women in targeted and marginalized areas and Jerusalem women.
Moreover, the Palestinian Government gives the highest priority to the protection and empowerment of women, as well as the improvement of women's political participation and economic and social status.
Furthermore, Ms. Al-khalili noted that gender units are on top of pursuing women's issues and rights and ensuring supportive policies and measures for women in various areas. And that the Ministry of Women's Affairs was responsible for developing and supporting such units in partnership, coordination and cooperation with all ministers and heads of official bodies.
lastly, the Minister concluded the meeting by listening to the interventions of gender units’ officials, their achievements, challenges and obstacles, as well as priorities for their work within the Government's action plan, where they also emphasized the importance of activating communication, and information exchange between the Ministry of Women's Affairs and all gender units in different institutions.
