The Ministry of Women’s Affairs and Stars of Hope Association are signing a memorandum of cooperation.

Dr. Hamad, and Safiya Al Ali, the chairperson of the board of the Association of Stars of Hope, and the accompanying delegation, have signed together a memorandum of cooperation to promote and activate the partnership between the two parties, through joint activities to empower women and girls with disabilities.

Dr. Hamad confirmed the importance of this partnership between the government and institutions which support the Palestinian women’s needs, and the ministry will implement a number of activities to promote equality, and will work hard to produce an updated and creative vision and mechanism for action that will advance gender policies in different areas.

Also, she stressed on the importance of coordination and cooperation, to engage women and girls with disabilities in the development of policies, programs and plans. As well as, to develop the work environment, and solve all problems that limit the capacity of women with disabilities, and their access to all services compared to other members of society.

On her part, Mrs. Al Ali, stressed the importance of efforts integration between the government and civil society, and to work through this partnership with the ministry, on everything that intersects with the institution’s priority, especially, enabling  women and girls with disabilities to have effective access to equality, justice and full integration in all areas of political, economic, cultural and social life, justice and law.

Lastly, the memorandum states that parties must cooperate in an integrated and joint manner to hold awareness-raising meetings and advocacy on the issues of women and girls with disabilities, to prepare reports, studies, research papers and policies, in accordance with each party's specialization and expertise, and to cooperate in the follow-up, analysis and evaluation of actions taken on women with disabilities.
