Dr. Hamad at the Round Table Meeting on “Arab Women Voices for Gaza” in Amman.

The Minister of Women’s Affairs Dr. Hamad has participated in the round table meeting on “Arab Women Voices for Gaza” held by the Jordanian Ministry of Social Development, represented by her Minister and Chairperson of the Ministerial Committee for the Empowerment of Women, Wafaa Bani Mustafa and other women parliamentarians from Jordan and Arab countries.
Dr. Hamad started her speech by showing the suffering of Palestinians who lives under the ongoing genocide, ethnic cleansing, starvation, torture, massacres, forced displacement in the Gaza Strip, with more than 110,000 Palestinians were lost between a martyr and wounded, 70% of whom are women and girls. Along with the unprecedented escalations in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
She added, “We have all witnessed the massacre of Rashid Street. The blood has been mixed with flour. More than 150 martyrs. And their torn pieces carried in bags. Today's human dignity is wasted, where people suffer severe traumas and, family care is lost and no shelter to keep them safe”.
Then, she stressed the fierce battle happening in the Israeli prisons that threatens the lives of thousands of Palestinian prisoners. Reports from international organs and committees dealing with sexual violence have clearly demonstrated Israeli brutal policy in dealing with them, in particular, women and girls who have been subjected to abuse, torture, threats of rape, sexual harassment and cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment.
Dr. Hamad concluded by appreciating the positive and noble position of the Jordanian government and people for sending aid to the Gaza Strip, and the great efforts of his Majesty King Abdullah to stop Israel's brutal aggression. And, she called the Arab Parliamentary Union and the Inter-Parliamentary Union to work towards an immediate and lasting ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, to ensure the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid and to direct relief and economic programs in support of recovery plans.
Looking forward for the role of the sister Arab parliaments and coalitions to raise the voices of Palestinian women and girls, and support Palestinian cause in all forums and levels to limit Israel's impunity for accountability, to support boycotting campaigns. And to push governments to turn words into actions, to adopt a subsequent UN Security Council Resolution No. 1325 on women under occupation, to promote the entry into force of the women's agenda, security and peace, in the occupied Palestinian territory.
On her part, Mrs. Beni Mustafa reaffirmed Jordan's positions under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein Supporting Palestinian people, noting His Majesty's great efforts to stop the aggression against the Gaza Strip, Recalling Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah's expression in addressing the world with the feelings and conscience of all Jordanians and Arabs regarding the suffering of Palestinian women, Her speech was clear, refuting all lies, which the occupying Power intentionally marketed in the world's media.
She added, “This year’s world celebration of women’s day is different due to the brutal attacks on our people in Gaza, where children and women constitute the majority of its victims, under the unjust blockade, lack of food, medicine and displacement."
And last, she called the international community and international organizations concerned with human rights and women's and children's rights, through the Coalition of Women Parliamentarians from Arab State, to stop this war, massacres and genocide and support the resilience of civilian women and children in the Gaza Strip and all occupied Palestine.
