Al-Khalili: Enhancing cooperation and joint action to increase women's participation in the security sector.الخليلي: تعزيز سبل التعاون والعمل المشترك لرفع نسبة مشاركة النساء في قطاع قوى الأمن

The Minister of Women’s Affairs, Ms. Mona Al-Khalili and the undersecretary of the ministry Mr. Dawood Al-Deek held a meeting with the gender units of the Palestinian security forces, at the Ministry's headquarters today in Ramallah. Where Ms. Al-Khalili commended the achievements of the security sector in integrating women into various security agencies and changing women's stereotypes through their work and leadership in society.

Then, she stressed the need for a joint action to increase women's participation and representation in the security forces at all levels and to enable the security sector to provide protection to women, pointing to ways of partnership and serious cooperation in promoting women's social and cultural awareness along with academic and security awareness, sensitive budgets and gender-sensitive structures.

Also, she added that there has been a progress in the enrolment of the security forces in the various Palestinian security agencies and at different levels, where women’s participation increased from 3% to 7% at ages (20-40).

Lastly, she confirmed that the ministry will continue to provide support for women and ensure greater participation in the security forces among them, despite all challenges and violations of the occupation. Also, to ensure that Palestinian women pursue their struggles with men at all political, social, economic and institutional levels in the belief that equitable and sustainable development will be achieved at the community and family levels only with all capacities and expertise.

أشادت الخليلي بالإنجازات التي حققها قطاع الأمن في إدماج المرأة في الأجهزة الأمنية المختلفة وتغيير الصورة النمطية للمرأة من خلال عملها وقيادتها في المجتمع. جاء ذلك خلال لقاء وزيرة شؤون المرأة منى الخليلي ووكيل الوزارة داوود الديك مع وحدات النوع الإجتماعي في قوى الأمن الفلسطيني في مقر الوزارة اليوم في رام الله.

وأكدت الخليلي على ضرورة العمل المشترك لرفع مشاركة وتمثيل النساء في قوى الأمن على كافه المستويات، وتمكين القطاع الامني من توفير الحماية للنساء، مشيرة إلى سبل الشراكة والتعاون الجاد في تعزيز الوعي الإجتماعي والثقافي الداعم للمرأة إلى جانب الوعي الأكاديمي والأمني، والموازنات الحساسه والهياكل المراعية للنوع الاجتماعي.

وأضافت الخليلي أن هناك تقدم في نسبة الالتحاق بقوى الأمن في مختلف الأجهزة الأمنية الفلسطينية وبمستويات مختلفة، حيث أن نسبة مشاركة المرأة في القوى الأمنية الفلسطينية كانت 3% وأصبحت 7% في الأعمار من 20 – 40 عاما.

وبدورها أكدت الخليلي ان الوزارة ستعمل على تقديم الدعم والإسناد لتكون نسبة مشاركة النساء أكبر وخاصة في القطاع الامني برغم كل التحديات والهجوم على شعبنا من قبل الإحتلال، " وسنكمل كل ما تم العمل عليه من إنجازات ونطوره وندعم المرأة في فلسطين لأنها الشريكة الأولى في النضال"، وسنعمل على أن تواصل المرأة الفلسطينية مشوارها النضالي مع الرجل على جميع المستويات السياسية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية والمؤسساتية وذلك لإيماننا بأن التنمية العادلة والمستدامة لن تتحقق على مستوى المجتمع والأسرة إلا بتظافر جميع الطاقات والخبرات.
