بمشاركة وزراء وممثلي الآليات الوطنية المعنية بشؤون المرأة في الدول الاعضاء في جامعة الدول العربية 
د. حمد تطالب بالوقف الفوري والدائم لإطلاق النار في قطاع غزة

مع استمرار العدوان الإسرائيلي على قطاع غزة وسياسات التجويع والتهجير القسري، شاركت د. آمال حمد وزيرة شؤون المرأة، عبر تقنية زوم، في الاجتماعي الاقليمي العربي للجنة وضع المرأة بالأمم المتحدة حول "تسريع تحقيق المساواة بين الجنسين وتمكين النساء والفتيات من خلال مكافحة الفقر وتعزيز المؤسسات والتمويل من منظور يراعي احتياجات المرأة". 
عقد هذا اللقاء برئاسة معالي السفيرة د. هيفاء الو غزالة، الأمين العام المساعد ورئيس قطاع الشؤون الاجتماعية في جامعة الدول العربية، وبحضور وزيرات ووزراء وممثلي الآليات الوطنية المعنية بشؤون المرأة في الدول الاعضاء بجامعة الدول العربية. 
وجاء هذا اللقاء بهدف التنسيق والتوافق على الموقف الإقليمي العربي الموحد تجاه القضايا التي سيتم طرحها للنقاش في أعمال الدورة (68) للجنة وضع المرأة بالأمم المتحدة والتي تتمحور حول " تسريع تحقيق المساواة وتمكين النساء من خلال مكافحة الفقر " وحول المطالب العاجلة في مواجهة العدوان الاستعماري المستمر للاحتلال الاسرائيلي بحق الشعب الفلسطيني عامة، والنساء الاطفال خاصة، وبدأ نص البيان بالإشادة بالصمود البطولي للمرأة الفلسطينية في مواجهة الاحتلال من أكثر من 75 عاماً. 
وأكدت د. حمد على عدة نقاط من الضروري تضمينها في البيان والتي تمثل الموقف الوطني الفلسطيني تجاه العدوان الاسرائيلي ضد شعبنا: الوقف الفوري والدائم لإطلاق النار واتخاذ كافة التدابير العاجلة والفورية للسماح بدخول المساعدات للتخفيف من آثار الكارثة الإنسانية التي سببها العدوان الإسرائيلي في قطاع غزة، وضروة إلزام الاحتلال الإسرائيلي بتنفيذ قرارات مجلس الأمن والجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة والإجراءات التي اقرتها محكمة العدل الدولية لمنع الاحتلال من الاستمرار بارتكاب إبادة جماعية، كما حذرت من التبعات الخطيرة لحملة التحريض على وكالة غوث وتشغيل اللاجئين لما له من أثر مباشر على تصفية قضية اللاجئين وتجويع وتشريد الفلسطينيين. 
وفي نهاية حديثها، ركزت د. حمد على خطورة الانتهاكات التي تتعرض  لها النساء والفتيات الفلسطينيات من عنف جنسي ممنهج من قبل قوات الاحتلال الاسرائيلي سواء على الطرقات أو أثناء الاعتقال والتحقيق في السجون الإسرائيلية.

Dr. Hamad Calls for an immediate and permeant ceasefire in Gaza Strip 

Ramallah 28/2/2024 
With the continuation of the Israeli attacks and policies of starvation and forced displacement in Gaza Strip, Dr. Amal Hamad, Minister of Women Affairs, participated via zoon in the regional Arab meeting of the UN Commission on the status of women. The focus was on accelerating gender equality and empowering women and girls through combating poverty, enhancing institutions and financing from a perspective that consider women’s needs.

This meeting was chaired by her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary – General and Head of the Social Affairs sector in the Arab League, with the presence of ministers and representatives of the national mechanisms concerned with women’s affairs in member countries in the Arab League. 

This aim of this meeting was to coordinate and agree on a unified Arab regional position towards the issues to be discussed in the 68th session of the UN commission on the status of women. The focus was on "accelerating gender equality and empowering women through combating poverty, in addition to " The urgent demands were addressed in confronting the ongoing colonial aggression by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people in general, and women and children in particular. The “statement” praised the heroic steadfastness of the Palestinian women in facing the Israeli occupation for more than 75 years."

"Dr. Hamad emphasized on several essential points to be included in the statement representing the Palestinian national position towards the Israeli aggression against our people: The  immediate and permanent ceasefire, taking all urgent and immediate measures to allow aid entry to alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, obliging the Israeli occupation to implement the resolutions of the UN Security Council and General Assembly, along with the measures outlined by the International Court of Justice to prevent the occupation from continuing acts of genocide. Dr. Hamad also warned of the Serious consequences of the campaign against the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, as it directly impacts the Palestinian refugees cause and contributes to the hunger and displacement of Palestinians in Gaza Strip."

At the end of her remarks, Dr. Hamad focused on the severity of the violations that Palestinian women and girls are facing including the Israeli systematic sexual violence in the roads and during arrest and interrogation in Israeli prisons.
